Kirstin Erickson is from the Chicagoland area. She attended DePaul University College of Law in 2019, Cum Laude. She received her undergraduate degrees from The University of Iowa in Spanish and Marketing, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University. She speaks Spanish fluently, conversational Arabic, and basic Korean. During her teaching career, she spent five years living and teaching in South Korea and Jordan.
Kirstin has extensive experience representing clients on constitutional and employment issues in state and federal court as well as before The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She began her practice in civil litigation in Chicago. She then moved to Austin, Texas, in early 2023 to represent state agencies and individual defendants in a variety of employment discrimination and retaliation claims as well as constitutional challenges to statutes at The Office of the Attorney General. Kirstin also spent time in-house advising a state agency on administrative rule-making, contracts, litigation, data privacy, and personnel issues.
She is also a certified mediator and available to handle mediations. During law school, she conducted and settled a dozen mediations in small claims court and landlord-tenant court.
